“Do Not Go Gentle”
One scoop of the beans following another. I savor how they glisten, lifted from the small foil bag, falling into the filter. One scoop for every two cups; I learned this rule for coffee somewhere. It seems to work. This morning I linger over the process, relishing the experience. I roll the edges of the bag into themselves, pinch the paper-covered wires around the edges and put it back in the refrigerator. I have heard the beans shouldn’t be refrigerated, but we all have our little routines.
